The axiology as a pedagogical foundation to promote a culture of peace in Colombia

This study addressed the challenges related to school violence, the practice of values, and peaceful conflict resolution in Colombian school contexts. Based on axiology as a pedagogical foundation, it sought to promote attitudes oriented towards peaceful coexistence. Using a quantitative methodology, non-experimental design, and descriptive approach, variables such as theoretical knowledge, integration and promotion of values, relevance of teacher training, and access to training were evaluated. The sample included 98 teachers, who responded to a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.98. The results showed a theoretical knowledge of values, although their integration in educational activities is limited. Teachers consider themselves prepared to manage conflict, but identify barriers in accessing training and creating safe environments. The findings highlight the need to strengthen teacher training to face these challenges and guarantee values education.
